Parkinson Profile Chat supports free speech. However we also recognize the importance for people to respect the rights of others. Our goal is to create a fun and exciting environment which also means a place where we don't tolerate behavior that is harmful to others.

This agreement provides a framework and basic rules by which we all agree to help support the creation of a free, inviting and vibrant place for fun, chat, games, and business. Parkinson Profile Chat User Agreement:

Parkinson Profile Chat is provided by Parkinson Profile Community. ("Parkinson Profile") as a free service to users who agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. Parkinson Profile reserves the right to change the nature of this relationship at any time and for any reason. Any user who violates this Agreement may be permanently banned from using Parkinson Profile Chat.

You are entirely responsible and liable for all activities conducted when using Parkinson Profile Chat. Here is a list of some of the violations which may result in being (permanently) banned from using Parkinson Profile Chat. You agree not to do any of the following while in Parkinson Profile Chat.
 

• Repeatedly uses language inconsistent with the community standards of the area from which the chat originated.
   

• Impedes or otherwise prohibits communication; disrupts the discussion including, without limitation, using screen names in topical chats that are offensive to the topic and repeatedly posting off-topic comments in a topical chat.
   

• Contains highly explicit or graphic descriptions or accounts of sexual acts, including but not limited to sexual language of a violent or threatening nature, directed at another individual or group of individuals, particularly when unsolicited.
   

• Contains vulgarities directed toward another individual, group, or nationality.

• Depicts violence in a gratuitous manner, without journalistic or artistic merit, primarily intended to agitate or cause emotional distress.
   

• Is intended to victimize, harass, degrade or intimidate an individual or group of individuals on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. Hate speech is unacceptable anywhere on the service.
   

• Solicits personal information from a minor (under 18 years old). Personal information includes full name, home address, home telephone number, or other identifying information that would enable "offline" contact.
   

• Contains or facilitates the transfer of software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
   

• Contains material that defames, abuses, threatens, promotes, or instigates physical harm or death to others, or oneself.
   

• Is illegal or incites illegal activity, such as instructional information on how to build a bomb and/or make counterfeit money.
   

• Solicits for exchange, sale or purchase of sexually explicit images, and/or material harmful to minors; including, but not limited to, any photograph, film, video, or picture or computer generated image or picture (actual or simulated).
   

• Infringes anyone else's intellectual property rights, including, but not limited to, any copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, rights of privacy, or other proprietary rights.
   

• Attempts to harvest or collect member information, including screen names.
   

• Impersonates or represents any person or entity in an attempt to deceive, harass or otherwise mislead another member. You may not pretend to be an employee or representative of Parkinson Profile, or any of its family of companies, or affiliates.
   

• Attempts to get a password, or other private information from a user. Remember: Parkinson Profile employees will NEVER ask for your password.
   

• Links to and/or references content not allowed under these guidelines.

• Political chat is only permitted in the Politics room!

• When in Political room, no vulgarities should be directed toward any  country, nationality, group, or person for that matter.
   

• Otherwise uses the service in a manner deemed inappropriate by Parkinson Profile.

• post or transmit any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or any other forms of solicitation in Parkinson Profile Chat; and

You are entirely responsible and liable for all activities conducted when using Parkinson Profile Chat. Here is a list of some of the violations which may result in being (permanently) banned from using Parkinson Profile Chat. You agree not to do any of the following while in Parkinson Profile Chat.

CONTENT MONITORING:

Parkinson Profile as a matter of policy does not prescreen or monitor all information or dialogue, but Parkinson Profile has the right, but not the responsibility, to remove any information or dialogue which is deemed in Parkinson Profile's sole discretion harmful, offensive, or otherwise in violation of any rules Parkinson Profile has in place at the time.

Exchange of Information:

For safety purposes and because this is a live chat, we discourage users from openly exchanging information such as their last name, mailing address or phone number. If you find you would like to correspond without another user outside the rooms we recommend that you first, in private, exchange e-mail addresses.

Additional Activities Not Permitted:

Lurking, harassment, verbal abuse of another user, flooding, flaming, spamming and advertisements, use of programs such as IRC clients, worms, bots scripts, or Trojan horses will NOT BE TOLERATED for any reason. Initiation or participation in any such activity will cause you to be banned from chatting in this or any other Parkinson Profile chat forum, and may be cause to report the behavior to your ISP for termination of account. Parkinson Profile reserves the right to immediately terminate or suspend access to our chat rooms for conduct that we believe interferes with anyone's support and safety.

Emotional Responsibility to Yourself:

It is not your responsibility to take on the problems of each individual that enters the room, nor are you responsible for their actions within or outside the room. Ultimately, the number one person you are responsible for is yourself... if you find the conversation within the group is becoming counter-productive for you personally, because of it's nature, (but not disruptive as a whole), then it is your responsibility to excuse yourself, leave the chat and come back at a later time. Ultimately, it is up to all of us to make productive choices for ourselves, to learn to support and take care of ourselves, and not just others, and through learning to do that we can all push forward and closer to a healthy recovery.

Chat Managers:

Chat Managers will not only enforce the rules but can and will remove you from a room if you are not following the guidelines. Anyone who continues to break the rules will be banned (for a set amount of time) from chatting in these rooms. Also, Chat Managers can and will move you from one room to another if they feel that you should not be in a particular chatroom (for example, teens under 16 will be moved to the teen room).

It is at the sole discretion of the chatroom managers to remove a user from the chatrooms, to move a user to another chatroom, or to ban a user completely from access to the chat.

Chat Room Managers are usually present in the room to attempt to maintain a certain amount of order. This does not mean the chats are moderated - you are welcome to speak openly about anything you need to. The Chat Room Managers are just present to help and insure a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT USE OF Parkinson Profile CHAT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. Parkinson Profile SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE TO YOU FOR ANY CONTENT FOUND IN Parkinson Profile CHAT. Parkinson Profile EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON INFRINGEMENT. Parkinson Profile MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT Parkinson Profile CHAT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OR THAT Parkinson Profile CHAT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR FREE.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:

TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER THE APPLICABLE LAW, Parkinson Profile SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE Parkinson Profile CHAT OR FOR COST OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS AND SERVICES OR RESULTING FROM ANY GOODS OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED INTO THROUGH Parkinson Profile CHAT OR RESULTING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF PROFITS, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE PROPERTIES, EVEN IF Parkinson Profile CHAT HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

INDEMNIFICATION:

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Parkinson Profile, its affiliated companies, its employees, contractors, officers and directors, from all liabilities, claims and expenses, including attorney's fees, that arise from breach of the terms of this Agreement, or in connection with, the transmission of any Information on Parkinson Profile Chat or the Internet by or through Parkinson Profile Chat accounts.

TERMINATION:

You or Parkinson Profile may terminate your Account at any time for any reason. Once your Account is terminated, you cannot access Parkinson Profile Chat in any manner or for any reason without re-registration, and you cannot assist in enabling a terminated participant to access Parkinson Profile Chat using or via your Account.

MISCELLANEOUS:

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Parkinson Profile, and you agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts of Parkinson Profile for any cause or action arising out of this Agreement. In the event that any portion of this Agreement is deemed by a court to be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

MINORS:

In cases where you have authorized another individual, including a minor, to use your Account, you recognize that you are fully responsible for: (i) the online conduct of such user; (ii) controlling the users access to and use of Parkinson Profile Chat; and (iii) the consequences of any misuse. You further recognize that the holder of the Account is entirely responsible for activities conducted through such Account. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SOME AREAS OF Parkinson Profile CHAT MAY CONTAIN MATERIAL THAT IS INAPPROPRIATE FOR MINORS.

WHAT TO DO:

If you witness chat in a public chat room that violates this Agreement or the Parkinson Profile Chat rules then in effect, please send the relevant information through this form. Parkinson Profile cannot guarantee that any action will be taken as a result of your report. Please refer to this Agreement from time to time for any updates Parkinson Profile may make to this Agreement and to Parkinson Profile Chat rules.
