| "Voice error: Voice server returned an
unexpected error." |
| Cause: An unexpected error occurred while
attempting to communicate with the voice server.

| "Voice error: Your computer's audio input is
already in use by another application." |
| Cause: On most computers running Microsoft
Windows, only one program at a time can use the computer's sound
hardware (microphone and speakers). Chat cannot access your microphone
because Windows indicates that it is already in use by another program.
Solution: Follow these steps, in order, until the problem is
corrected:
- Close any other programs you are running that might be using
your computer's sound system.
- Restart the voice feature by first pressing the Stop Voice
button and then pressing the Start Voice button. If you still
receive the same error message, repeat this several times.
- Click on Exit to leave the chat room. Then, enter your
voice chat room again.
- Close your web browser completely. Then, open your browser again
and re-enter your voice chat room.
- If all the previous steps fail to correct the problem, reboot
your computer.

| "Voice error: Your computer does not support
the required uncompressed audio format." |
| Cause: Chat is unable to access your microphone
because Windows indicates that it is not available.
Solution: You are probably receiving this error because your
computer's sound hardware is already in use by another program. Please
first read "Voice error: Your computer's audio input is already in use
by another application."
If you still receive this error even after completing those steps,
there may be a problem with your computer's sound hardware. Verify that
you have sound capability using the Sound Recorder test as explained in
"How do I test my microphone and speakers?" GlassRoom |
